Editing in Photoshop

Using Photoshop i have edited this image for my magazine, i have created a new background in black and white by using the threshold tool on the brick wall. I have also gotten rid of the gravel by using the clone stamp tool to make the wall carry on further down. I have increased the contrast in the image to make the model stand out more, and the brush and opacity tool to get rid of the red eye. I chose to make the back ground black and white to match the colours of the magazine, but also because I think it makes the model stand out more than the red brick wall does. I think it was a good choice and looked effective because it seems to add to the grunge look i was trying to achieve. In the second edited picture the image has been rotated, for use on the front page and i have added the band name to it using the text tool and a font I found on dafont.com that I thought was appropriate.
