SUCCESSFUL PHOTOSHOOT !

These are the photos from my shoot, I think the way she is dressed and her hair style really matches the genre of my magazine.

I think that these photos are my best, I cant decide which one to use for my front cover !
So I have printed off these photos and I am having people in my class and my friends to vote for their favourite ! The pictures that I dont use for my front cover can be used on my contents page and my double page spread.

Magazine Title Research

After researching these magazines I tehn researched the title of them. i have realised that the names of these magazines are rather simple and straight forward. So taking the genre of my magazine into consideration I have come up with the title 'PULSE'. I think this is a simple but yet powerful name which has a relation with music which has a BEAT. I need my magazine to be a bold font which reflects the boldness of the name 'PULSE'.

My Model..

This is my model ! I have chosen her to go on the front cover of my magazine as I think she has the right look, and she is very photogenic. I am going to dress her up like the image of Emma Watson as I think she would suit this and this look would look good in the cover of a rock (kind of) genre magazine.

My Magazine

My ideas so far... Genre is going to be indie/alternative music, so my front cover will feature the names of Florence and The Machine, Mumford & Sons, Muse, The Courteeners and Ellie Goulding! After looking at music magazines such as Kerrang, Q and NME I have realised that the colour scheme normally depends on the model, what they are wearing and the surroundings. As I have not got a model YET the colour scheme will depend on my model.

As for my contents page, I will have Gig reviews from Hyde Park and Glastonbury, also reviews of new albums. Competitions for tickets to upcoming gigs will be advertised. In NME there is a BAND INDEX , as I think this a good idea so Im going to do somthing similar. News about famous artists............. :)

Front Covers

I have looked at crunge/indie/alternative music magazines, as this is what genre I want my magazine to be. What I have noticed about magazine front covers is that the model is the first thing that catches your eye, meaning they must have the right look. When I am choosing my model, I will make sure he/she suits the kind of music my magazine represents.
On the Kerrang magazine, you can tell that the music is crunge as the font is bold and in-your-face, as is the colour theme of yellow black and white.
