Current music magazine in circulation have catchy, memorable names that relate to music. Some include musical terminology such as bass and rhythm. Popular magazines such as NME (New Music Express) and Q use short, sharp names. Top of the Pops and Country Weekly are magazines that clearly define their genre by the title alone.
Considering these conventions, I thought of possible names for my magazine then posted a poll onto facebook to get an idea of what my target audience would choose. The results are:
Fanatic - 11 votes;
Bassline - 4 votes;
M - 3 votes;
Indiependance - 6 votes.
I intend to use Fanatic as it was the most popular. I can also create new sections such as "Fan of..." and relate back to it throughout. Indiependance was popular but the title would have been too long for the cover.
Magazine Name Fonts...
FANATIC (Adobe Caslon Pro Bold)
FANATIC (Algerian)
FANATIC (Freestyle Script)
FANATIC (Rage Italic)
FANATIC (Impact)
My prefered option is the freestyle script as it's legiable and flowing though I will use photoshop to make it more stand-out.

This is the finished masthead for my magazine.
I used a similar font that wasn't italic but had the same flowing feel. I added a white stroke around the edge to make it stand out from my models hair and the studio background. I also used Lime Green and Rose Pink to fill the letter A's. This made it more of an attention grabbing title as it stands out from more traditional coloured magazines.
