Double Page Spread Image...

This was the image i chose to use for my double page spread. After some editing in photoshop, these were my two favourite versions.

As Chloe isn't a musician, she struggled to hold the guitar correctly. When i positioned her, I found she had a more realistic stand like in this photo. I like the image as it's quite quirky with the angle it was taken in relation to the brick wall behind it. Using a brick wall as a background is quite a popular convention for indie magazines to use. The editing on the first image made the image brighter, saturating the colours especially her lips and the guitar to make her stand out more form the back drop. The inclusion of the guitar implies she is musical.
The editing on the second image is inspired by Cheryl Coles cover for Q magazine. I used the brush to create spots and manipulated them to look like rain drops. I also desaurated the image but increased the colour on Chloe's face and body, again making her stand out. I like this version of the image but find it would work more for a rock or indie magazine rather than my pop-indie convergence. The first one fits better as it fits with the bright colour scheme and doesn't make my model appear washed out in the way the second version does.
