Questionnaire...

Are you male or female?
---------------------------------
What age are you?
---------------------------------
Which, if any, music magazine do you purchase regularly?
---------------------------------
How much would you be willing to pay for a music magazine?
---------------------------------
What is your prefered genre of music to listen to?
---------------------------------
What features would influence you to purchase a magazine?
---------------------------------
Do you prefer male or female recording artists?
---------------------------------
Are you interested in music production or just listening to it?
---------------------------------
I intend to use the results from this survey to define my target audience in relation to the ideas for my magazine. The results showed that the female students aged 16-18 prefered to buy magazines such as NME and Kerrang and would be willing to pay between £2- £2.50 for a weekly magazine. As my questionnaires were answered by students from Winstanley College, a high level of intelligence may be assumed. The most popular arists were female, from the alternative pop-indie genre. Features to encourage readers to purchase the magazine would be competitions to meet the music artists rather than posters. I also found they were more interested in just listening to the actual music rather than producing it. Frewer males answered the questionnaire, though their answers followed similar results excluding a preference for male recording artists which they could relate to.
