I decided that shapes and the swirls I had used looked too basic. Instead, i found a tutorial on the internet which allowed me to create a 'sticker' which looked as though it had been peeled back. I thought this added quite a quirky element which worked well as thats the ideal look of the magazine. When printed, the swirls I originally choose didn't show up very well. I used bolder shapes instead which are still quite femine and stop the magazine looking empty.
