Target audience

The ideal target audience for my magazine is people of student age (mid teens - early twenties).

During the idea development of my magazine, I have personally made decisions based on my target audience. For example, I decided on the genre of my magazine to be 'indie/alternative' as I know a lot of people in my target audience (student age -mid teens to early twenties) who are interested in this genre of music.

I also decided to use the colour scheme of red, white and black to suit my target audience. I decided this as these colours will make my magazine look sophisticated and professional, but also the accents of colour will make it look exciting and appealing to my audience.

Furthermore, when taking my photographs for the main images in my magazine, I will make sure the model is within the age range of my target audience. This will appeal to the right target audience because they are the same age as the model and can relate easily to them.
