Research - Double page spread evaluation

This is a double page spread, featuring Lily Allen.

The main features of this double page spread are a large image of the person who the article is based on/about (Lily Allen) and an equally large quote taken directly from what she has said during the interview. The reason behind this is that the image attracts the audience of people who are going to be interested in reading about her, and the shares more knowledge about her as a person.

Both of these factors increase target audience attraction due to the fact that they almost feel as if she is talking to them directly. The image is a direct mode of address as she is looking directly at the camera (audience) and it is also a mid-shot which also appeals to the target audience as they can see what she is wearing. This appeals to the target audience as she is wearing typically 'alternative/indie' clothes. This adds impact as we can see straight away who the article features and what type of information the article will contain. I believe this image is successful as a double page spread as it is an interesting image that uses a variety of factors to draw in the target audience.

Also, the article doesnt contain too much text. This is suitable for the target audience as they will only be interested in the interesting parts of the text and wont want to read a lot of useless information.
