AS 2010/11 Bev Breary: Analysis of Magazines

The Logo 'Q' is in the top left hand corner to signify that it is still part of the magazine. Also the words 'contents' is in bold font so therefore stands out to the reader so they can clearly see what the page is going to include
The main image is centralised and larger than anything else on the page, this is to draw thereaders attention as to what is in the magazine, it also breaks the contents page down as it is not juts full of writing.
The sub-headings underline the main stories in the magaizine. Important facts and headings are written in bold to highlight key features of every article and also help the reader to understand it easily.
In the 'Every month' box located in the bottom left hand coner is a entertainment for the reader like, crosswords, this helps the reader to feel more involed in the magazine, as they are taking part in acivities and competitions.

This is a double page spread.
When you first look at these two pages your attention is drawn to the picture as the colours are very vibrant and elaborate. The main picture also contrasts well with the text to the left and bottom right, the colours coordinate well with the picture. The layout of these two pages is very tidy and need, this is so the reader does not have to strain his/her eyes when reading the ariticle, they simply have to read from side to side. The quote that has been placed on top of the image is clearly visiable, so that the reader can really get a feel for the article.

I decided to use 5 girls as models for my magazine, to form one whole group and represent a typical "pop girlband." Bands such as the Sugarbabes and The Saturdays gave me the initial idea for myt final design

I feel that my models characterize my magazine, as they are all photogenic and fit the criterea of a classic pop group

They are the target age of my magazine and appeal to my audience in many ways.

Idecided to call my magazine "Replay " as i feel it correspnds well with the theme of music as a song can be replayed, almost like the band songs in my magazine. It is also catchy and snappy, also rememberable.
