Research

We have created flow chart of what most radio stations and shows include, we have also given examples, as seen below:

We have also looked into depth at existing radio shows and what we would have to include, as well as what issues we will have to consider and may have to overcome when we make our own 5 minute show.

We found that all radio shows change their style and content depending on what audience it is aimed at throughout the day.
For example breakfast shows that are aired during the prime time have a broader audience to entertain therefore they dont have a specific age of audience or gender.
Another point we found was that the language changes over different regions, such as Wish FM, who's target audience is the St Helens and Wigan area. Recently they were reporting on a local pie eating contest. This would be irrelevant to Hallam Fm who's audience is in Yorkshire, so would therefore have little interest in the Wigan local news.
Below are links to the two websites:
http://www.hallamfm.co.uk/
http://www.wishfm.net/

These are two of the many radio stations we studied. After looking in depth we decided to do a broadcast for a family based auidence and make it suitable and appeal to everyone, so that it can be aired anytime of the day.
