Features and stories on the front cover.

To create stories or features for my front page I researched current magazine stories like the ones from NME. I looked at bands I could feature. Here are some of the artists I looked at:

Here are the fonts I looked at using inside the features:

I looked at these two fonts because they would create a professional feel, as the text wont be large enough to have a grunge feel, I decided upon these two.
Here are the features I used on my front cover:
This will be used down the side of the cover, just underneath the banner. This is slim and doesn't distract from the main image. It will also be useful because of the bands used in the titles.
This will be used underneath the previous feature. This is slightly thicker because it will not distract from the main image of the picture. It is really effective because it has a really modern feel, this is because of the font used and the background strips. I really like this because of the way it adds to the magazine.
This feature is really effective because it is in a circle shape, it makes the look of the magazine younger and modern. It also makes the front cover look young, and speaks to my target audience.
Here is the finished effect of my feature column:
I think that this creates a modern feel, and speaks to my target audience. I really like the overall effect of the stories together. It makes the image look more like a magazine.
