My Prelim Work

For my Prelim Work I intitially wanted to do a college fashion magazine, so I first began by taking pictures outside although I came into some difficulty as the pictures were too bright and the model didnt really fit what I wanted to create. Also as the model was outside I thought that the main focus would be taken away from the model and the text on the page. So I then decide to use a different model and do it as a college magazine containing various stories. Firstly I changed from taking pictures outside to taking them inside in a studio, this would then make the model and text the main focus. When choosing what colour text to use I decided to match the colour of the text to the colour in the models scarf so I chose to use different shades of pink to match the colour of the scarf, I also thought these colours would stand out on the off-white background. I chose to make the name Bethany Sharkey bigger and use a backing effect as this was the main story. I have also used stories which were appropriate for my target audience of college students so that they would take an interest in my magazine. Another reason college students would take an interest in my magazine was because I used Alexandra Burke as one of the main stories in the magazine, Alexandra Burke is a pop singer and the Winner of the XFactor in 2008 and is very popular with teenagers.
