Research - Colour scheme

I looked at a variety of magazines from the indie/alternative genre and looked at the colour scheme that they used.

I found out that the main colours used are often black and white with one other colour, this gives the impression that the magazine is sophisticated and suited to the right target audience as well as keeping it interesting and fun.

From my research into magazine colour schemes of the indie/alternative genre, I have decided to use a simple colour scheme of red, black and white.
I have made this decision as I believe using this colour scheme will give accents of sophistication whilst still being exciting and entertaining. I also believe it will attract the right target audience for my magazine.
